Meet Steven Huntley: Artist, Printmaker, and Educator

Hello! I’m Steven Huntley, an Afro American artist and printmaker passionate about combining art with education. My mission is to inspire the next generation of artists, especially in schools lacking art programs. My artistic journey began at Purchase College, where I became a shop monitor, leading me to teach printmaking, inspired by my favorite teacher, Antonio Frasconi.

Growing up in a family of craftsmen, I developed a deep appreciation for creativity. I’ve worked in professional printmaking shops, collaborating with iconic artists like Chuck Close and Leroy Neiman. My experiences in sculpture studios have further enriched my artistic vision. In my work, I celebrate the contributions of Black artists while promoting social consciousness in art.
