Textured Impressions: Woodblock Printing Workshop With Steven Huntley

Saturday and Sunday, March 29, 2025 and March 30, 2025, 11am-4pm

In this immersive printmaking course, participants will explore the fundamentals of woodcut printing, focusing on utilizing natural wood, including pine and thin plywood.  

Participants will learn how to manipulate wood surfaces to create unique prints.  The course encourages creative exploration of textures and fosters artistic confidence.

 Course Cost: $200 

Dates:  Saturday and Sunday, March 29, 2025 & March 30, 2025, 11am-4pm 

 Materials:  $25 for wood fee

 Paper: $5.80 per sheet

Session Plan: 

1. Introduction to Woodcut Printmaking: History and techniques with a hands-on activity to create textured surfaces.
   

2. Texture Exploration: Experiment with various wood treatments and discuss findings.

3. Printmaking Techniques: Learn proper registration and inking techniques, followed by carving blocks.

4. Printing and Presentation: Participants will print their carved designs and prepare a small display of their work. I believe this class will attract new participants and engage our current community, enhancing their artistic skills in a supportive environment. Thank you for considering this proposal.
