Juliette Choné

I am  a French visual artist who moved from Paris to East Bay in December 2015. I studied Art History, I got an Art and Craft Diploma in stained glass and a Visual Art Post-graduate degree at the University Panthéon-Sorbonne. I also studied Sciences for Restoration and Conservation of  Cultural Patrimony. Before living France I was sharing my time between exhibitions, teaching visual arts and research in a Ph.D in visual art and aesthetic about the concept of non-separation between Animal and Human Kingdoms. I have to give up my thesis but I continue to explore this subject in my creation in the same time poetical and political. I always love the paper, sensitive as a skin and I found in the delicacy of etching and collagraph the perfect medium to express the same ideas as my drawings with ink or pen, meaning to communicate the visceral and sincere power, fragility and resiliency of living. I like particularly to add drawing to my prints and thus give them a new life by telling new stories. I am really glad to be part of GAW and have the opportunity to explore, share and learn, always more, about the extraordinary possibilities of printmaking. So many boundaries to cross…
